Reconstruction of Heritage Sites

Renovating and rebuilding the historic sites and shrines in Iraq.

Since the fall of the Saddam regime, significant construction and renovation work has begun in Iraq, mostly focusing on the historic sites that have been neglected for decades. In addition the numerous sites across Iraq, the landmark Askariyyan Shrine in Samarra which was attacked in 2006 – a UN designated historic site – has also been the recipient of Najaf Campaign contributions. These sites are the identity of Iraq, and their rehabilitation provides a morale boost as well as work opportunities for locals.

Importance of Giving

Spend from what We have provided you before death comes to any of you, whereat he will say, ‘My Lord, if only You had respited me for a short time so that I could give charity and become one of the righteous!’ (Qur’an 63:10)
